Stefan Michaelis betreut als Geschäftsführer Kompetenzzentrum für Maschinelles Lernen Rhein-Ruhr. Er dient als Ansprechpartner in allen organisatorischen Fragen rund um die Forschung der Analyse unter Ressourcenbeschränkung.
Seine Forschungsinteressen liegen im Bereich der Datenanalyse in Kommunikationsnetzen, insbesondere im Mobilfunk. Die Ergebnisse des Data Mining auf den Telekommunikationsdaten werden zur Verbesserung der Dienstqualität im Netzwerk genutzt.
