Entdeckung Lokaler Muster

Lokale Muster stellen ein domänenübergreifendes Phänomen dar: Ein globales Modell erklärt einen Großteil der Daten hinreichend genau, jedoch existieren lokale Teilbereiche für die ein solches globales Modell unzureichend ist, und die sich nicht durch Rauschen erklären lassen. Zur Modellierung bietet sich in diesen Fällen die Komposition eines globalen Hintergrundmodells mit einem oder mehreren lokalen Modellen an, die jeweils nur für bestimmte Teilbereich der Daten gelten und sich dort signifikant vom globalen Modell unterscheiden. Ein wesentlicher Vorteil einer solchen Modellierung stellt die höhere Verständlichkeit des Gesamtmodells verglichen mit verfeinerten globalen Modellen dar.
